Buffy Recreation Episode 24: Bezoar/ Possum

"One person's bezoar is another person's possum," says Flo. As we discuss Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2E12 "Bad Eggs" and Parks and Recreation s2 E18 "The Possum," we learn about the responsibilities, burdens, and joys of caring for another. Also we struggle with new formats. And there are tentacles.  And eggs in your bed. Please tweet at us at @buffyrecreation and email us at buffyrecreation@gmail.com.

Buffy Recreation Episode 23: Standing Up to the Patriarchy (again and again)

What does a 1950s-era misogynist robot have in common with the IOW award for Woman of the Year? So so much. Listen to find out!  Plus it's a week of firsts! Flo finds the first "neckerchief done right" in the Buffyverse and we think of a situation Leslie Knope can't handle (hint: compliant-making-drug laced pastries).  Flo and Carra discuss Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2 11 "Ted" and Parks and Recreation S2E17 "Woman of the Year."  Topics covered include misogyny, motherhood, floppy discs, John Ritter, and paper Seegers.  Please kindly rate and review us on iTunes. Please email us at buffyrecreation@gmail.com.  And follow us on Twitter at @buffyrecreation!

Buffy Recreation Episode 22 : Galentine's Day

"Everyone here is terrible at love."

Friendship abounds and romantic love sputters on this weeks Buffy Recreation!  Flo and Carra discuss Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2 E10 "What's My Line Part 2" and Parks and Recreation S2E16 "Galentine's Day."  In this week's episode you'll hear about clumsy assassins, cod pants, amazing Knope predictions, amazing Slayer lore, and pick up lines heard in nursing homes.   We have this email address that is aggressively ignored at buffyrecreation@gmail.com.  And you can now tweet at us at @buffyrecreation.

I am sorry that I keep picking on Kendra.  It is not the fault of Bianca Lawson who portrays her and who is a wonderful actor in other roles. This character just doesn't make much sense.

Buffy Recreation Episode 21 : Blood and Sugar

What do endless permutations of deadly assassins have in common with Pawnee's most beloved corporation, Sweetums?  As Rupert Giles tells us, "They have no earthly desire except to collect their bounty."   Join us, your meticulously researching hosts Flo and Carra, as we discuss Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2E10 "What's My Line Part 1" and Parks and Recreation S2E15 "Sweetums."  Topics covered include the caloric needs of vampires, a whole ball of wax, fisting jokes, cannibalism and the joys and dangers of eating sugar.  Please subscribe, rate and review us (kindly) on ITunes.  For the love of all things beautiful, will someone please write us at buffyrecreation@gmail.com?  And tweet respectful things to us at @buffyrecreation!

Buffy Recreation Episode 20!

This week Flo and Carra discuss Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2E8 "The Dark Age" and Parks and Recreation S2E14 "Leslie's House" and wow, it was fun.  What does a secret past about demon orgies and a really fun house party have in common? Everything! Listen to find out! Other topics include pantyhose hair, the calories in blood meals, our withholding listeners, 1990s brown palettes, sexy talk and deviled eggs!

And our visual aids.  Here, for example, are Deirdre's silky smooth thighs and putrified zombie legs

Buffy Recreation Episode 19

This week we discussed Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2E7 "Lie to Me" and Parks and Recreation S2E13 "The Set Up."  Show notes are not fun to write this week.  Please read this https://www.yahoo.com/tv/parks-and-recreation-leslie-knope-writes-letter-to-america-following-donald-trumps-victory-142904267.html

Also here's a bizarre vampire extra moment:

And a sign of the times. Kids, that's a rotary phone. If you're drunk, please don't get behind a wheel.  The bottom arrow is pointing at the word beeper, obscuring the beeper Giles is holding in his hand.

Willow's shirt is very well pattern matched.  Xander says that line.

This is what Ford is wearing. Note the small earring

I was going to do more visuals but some cabinet choices have been made and I am incapacitated by fear and/or sorrow right now.

Buffy Recreation Episode 18

It's a week of bad wigs and bad choices on Buffy Recreation!

As it turns out, mini episodes, as I have conceived them at least, are very time consuming and somewhat difficult to make. Just you wait! One day you will receive mini episodes galore. Until then, please welcome Buffy Recreation Episode 18 in which Flo and I discuss Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2E6 "Halloween" and Parks and Recreation S2E12 "Christmas Scandal." It is no freaking coincidence that these shows are both featuring a holiday special this week. This week we discuss how "Willow is liberated from her modesty," the pain of kidney damage, Vikings, the dirty roots of misogyny (again and always), Snyder and Snape, and then Flo does a Drusilla impersonation and that makes my heart explode with happiness.
Check out this episode!
